As an artist I create art to escape the world around me. There is so much pressure and stress in the world that when I sit down and create it takes my mind away from all that stress. Art allows me to take control and allows me to do what I want. Everything in life is planned out and we all focus on the future. Art allows me to be present and takes my mind off of what is expected of me. It allows me to relax and not think about anything for a moment.
My style is very simple but precise. I want what I envision in my mind to be presented. I like monotone colors and colors that are simple. I think the world doesn’t allow us to focus on the simple things anymore, so when I create I want to show simplicity. I also like precision. Not everything has to be perfect but I want my work to be pretty close. I like when art is clean and precise because the world around me is a mess. I also believe the more simple something is, the more people can relate to it.
My inspiration comes from the world around me. When you look at the world you can discover how simple yet complex things are. When you just look at the world without thinking, you can capture the beauty of it, but when you start thinking of how it works it becomes very complex. This inspires me to create simple art. The world never stops moving and I think we all need a break to capture the present.
